While the throngs head to institutions like Regina’s, Picco has quietly earned some cred of its own. The retro-feeling Tremont Street eatery churns out perfectly charred pizzas with a relatively thin crust, fragrant sauce, gooey cheese, and toppings like roasted cauliflower, house-made Italian sausage, and sautéed spinach. By the way, the name “Picco” stands for “Pizza and Ice Cream Company,” and the homemade ice cream is outstanding, too. –Marc Hurwitz
