Best new trick from an old standby

Winner: Chuck Taylor II

It came as a surprise when Converse upgraded its classic, about-a-century-old sneaker last summer with the help of Nike technology. Dubbed the Chuck Taylor II, the enhanced sneak has the signature look—the rubber toe-cap, white foxing, and All Star patch—but the interior gives customers an increase in comfort. It features a Nike Lunarlon sockliner for additional cushioning and arch support, a micro-suede lining for breathability, and a padded, non-slip tongue. The line’s latest addition can be purchased online for $75 or $80, depending whether you prefer a low or high top. –Lauren Landry
